Today, as we join the world in celebrating Children’s Day, observed annually on May 27th, CITAD Online Radio wishes to extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all children across Nigeria. This year’s theme, “For every child, every right,” underscores the vital importance of ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to realize their full potential through access to quality education.
On this significant day, we draw the attention of parents across Nigeria to the crucial role they play in their children’s future. Education is the cornerstone of personal and national development, and we urge all parents to enroll their children in school. An educated child is better equipped to contribute positively to society and achieve personal success.
Moreover, we call on the Nigerian government at all levels to take immediate and substantial actions to support the educational sector. The following measures are essential to elevate our schools to a global standard and ensure every child’s right to quality education is met:
1. Provision of Adequate Teaching and Learning Materials: Schools must be supplied with the necessary resources, including textbooks, digital learning tools, and laboratory equipment, to facilitate effective teaching and learning.

3. Conducive Learning Environment: It is imperative to create and maintain safe, well-equipped, and conducive learning environments. This includes the construction and maintenance of classrooms, provision of clean water and sanitation facilities, and ensuring reliable electricity supply.
