CITAD announces 2023 Mu’azzam Institute of Philosophy and Political Theory for Youth

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has announced its preparations to host the “2023 Annual Ibrahim Muazzam Institute of Philosophy and Critical Thinking for Young People,” scheduled to be held in November.

The announcement, made by CITAD’s Organizing Committee today on Sunday in Kano.

The announcement disclosed that the Institute, established in 2017, is a program that pays tribute to the accomplished Ibrahim Muazzam, who retired after over forty years of teaching political theory, philosophy, and third-world theories at Bayero University, Kano.

The Committee explained that Ibrahim Muazzam himself, alongside three distinguished experts, will oversee this year’s program. The event is scheduled to be held in Kano, with the exact venue yet to be confirmed.

The Committee disclosed that CITAD won’t be able to offer financial support to selected candidates, but they will facilitate affordable and clean hotel accommodation for interested participants.

The Organizers also revealed that the institute places a special emphasis on encouraging early-career lecturers, recent university graduates, and final-year students in social sciences and humanities to participate and benefit from this intellectual exploration.
