CITAD to trains 70 young women on Digital skills, Entrepreneurship in Kano 

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) with the support of the Lenovo Foundation has commenced the second training of 70 young girls on digital creativity and innovations in Kano.

The Executive Director of the Centre, Mr. Yunusa Yau who made the disclosure at the orientation program for the young girls today in CITAD Kano office, said that the program is designed to empower young girls on digital skills, entrepreneurs as well as create opportunities for them on digital job in the state

He said that the training with a theme “Digital Creativity and Innovation for Young Women, DICI-YOW” would end in Six months.

“The program is a digital incubator for young women willing to enter the workforce for taking their lives to greater heights.

The young women participants would acquire basic and advanced digital and business skills and how to secure jobs and source entrepreneurship and business opportunities available at various capacities”, he said.

“Participants will be introduced to websites and foundations they can visit to secure jobs, soft loans, and grants from government establishments and private entities among others. They would also be introduced to the “Jobberman.com, ZipRecruiter, Teach away, Careerjet, LinkedIn, Glassdoor sites, Bank of Industries (BOI), and Bank of Agriculture”.he said!

Guest speakers at the event encourage the young women to use their brain as capital to change their economic situation by turning into an independent life, instead of defending on others to survive.

Some participants while speaking with CITAD Online Radio expressed delight for having the opportunity to be part of training that will reshape their thinking economically and socially.
