The Women in Politics Forum (WIPF) announced the appointment of Malam Yunusa Zakari Ya’u, Executive Director of the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), as one of the members of the board of trustees.
The appointment is contained in a letter signed by Iyom Josephine Anenih, WIPF Board Chairperson, and sent to Malam Ya’u, dated 25th August 2023.
The letter reads, “I thank you most sincerely for accepting to join the board of directors of the Organization of Women Advocacy in Leadership Advancement in Nigeria, operating under the trademark Women in Politics Forum. Your dedication to the community and your extensive experience in working within the Civil Society space make you an excellent candidate to contribute to the strategic growth and mission of our organization.”
“As a board member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the direction of the organization and helping us fulfill our vision of a Nigerian society where women are afforded full and equal social, economic, and political rights that are respected and enforced. We believe that your expertise and insights will greatly enhance our ability to make a positive impact in the country and beyond.”
“Your responsibilities as a board member will include attending regular board meetings, participating in committee work, contributing to decision-making processes, offering guidance on organizational strategy, and actively participating in fundraising and advocacy efforts. Your term as a board member will be for a six-year renewable term starting from 15th September 2023.”

The Women in Politics Forum is an organization with the goal of ensuring an increase in the level of women’s participation in political and leadership roles.
