The Kano State Ministry of Health has confirmed an outbreak of cholera in Kano

The chief epidemiologist of the ministry, Sulaiman Iliyasu, confirmed this in a telephone interview with Freedom Radio’s Safara’u Tijani Adam.

He said an outbreak had been reported in Danbatta Local Government Area, which resulted in the loss of two lives.

“In April, we received reports of an outbreak of vomiting and diarrhea in Danbatta, which later spread to Gwarzo Local Government Area.”

(Dr. “So far, more than 25 to 30 people have been infected in the Kano suburbs,” said Iliyasu.

According to the officials, the affected areas are Dala, Ungoggo Local Government Area, and Tarauni Local Government Area.

Dr. Sulaiman Isyaku called on the public to take extra care to keep their environment clean and to report any outbreak to the health authorities for immediate action.
