Kano Pillars head Coach, Evans Ogenyi has insisted that the major goal for the team this season is to gain promotion back to the Nigerian Premier Football League.
Pillars were relegated to the NNL, after they were docked points for fans-violence and could not gather enough points to salvage their doomed season.
The club, adjusting to life in the second tier, got their campaign under way with a victory against Sokoto United at the Giginya Stadium, on Wednesday.
“The players know what is at stake for us this season. Winning promotion back to the NPFL is the mission and it is good that we started the season with a win.”
“All the remaining fixtures in the NNL are like a final for us and we can’t afford to make any mistake.”
